Where did it start?

Tech TLC wasn’t born in a boardroom—it started with four friends, a lot of laughter, and one simple idea: tech learning should be fun, not frustrating.

It all began when Deb, Gil, Samantha, and Mike realized that technology was leaving too many people behind. Whether it was seniors struggling with their devices, businesses frustrated with tech adoption, or frontline workers needing better training, there was one common theme—people weren’t learning because traditional training was dull, overwhelming, and built for robots, not humans.

​

So, we decided to fix it.

​

At Tech TLC, we ditch the boring manuals, toss the tech jargon, and replace confusion with confidence—and, most importantly, fun. We bring kindness, joy, and a human-first approach to tech education, making learning feel engaging, interactive, and even a little bit entertaining.

Our mission

Tech TLC partners with corporations, government agencies, and senior centers to make technology easy to understand and adopt. Through engaging digital education and on-site instruction, we help businesses reduce support costs, improve retention, and drive customer confidence.

Our unique senior network creates a direct channel for corporations to reach the 55+ community while providing senior centers with valuable digital literacy resources. This partnership empowers users, enhances engagement, and creates a seamless funnel for both networks.

​

Because when people understand technology, they engage, they adopt, and everyone benefits.

Honoring Mike

On Friday, February 28, 2025, we lost our dear friend and co-founder, Mike. He was the kind of person who could make anyone laugh, brighten any room, and turn even the most frustrating tech problem into something fun to solve.

​

Mike’s passion for helping people, his contagious sense of humor, and his unwavering belief in making tech education accessible and joyful will always be part of Tech TLC. As we grow, we’ll carry his spirit forward—through every joke we tell, every lightbulb moment we create, and every person we help feel just a little more confident with technology.

Mike may no longer be with us, but his impact will forever be woven into the heart (and the laughter) of Tech TLC.

Deb Shapiro

Founder, Chief Kindness Officer

With 30+ years of experience, Deb discovered that adults learn best when they’re engaged and having fun, which inspired her to create Tech TLC—especially after realizing she wasn’t the only one filling the "Family Tech Help Desk" role. Her partnership with Samantha, forged after working together as agile coaches and united by a shared passion for dog rescue, has been key in bringing Tech TLC to life.

Samantha Horner

Co-Founder

Sam, a chicken lover with one feathery friend named Deb, has been working alongside her for years and is thrilled to help co-found Tech TLC. With a background in managing large-scale IT projects and a solid track record in operations, Sam brings a mix of expertise and a love for the quirky side of life to the team.

Ana Rhodes

Director, Sales and Kindness

Ana is passionate about making a positive impact on everyone she encounters. She first met Deb over 20 years ago while living in Boston and they maintained a connection via LinkedIn. After working tirelessly for over 30 years, Ana decided to semi-retire—that is, until Deb shared the news of Tech TLC. Inspired by the company's mission, Ana joined the Tech TLC team. She has a diverse background, with a particular passion for working in higher education. Ana proudly earned her EdS from Nova Southeastern University in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys pilates, traveling, and volunteering in the community.

Customer Success and Kindness Manager

Chris is the go-to guy for turning challenges into wins! With 8+ years in B2B SaaS, sales, and customer success, he knows how to boost customer growth, streamline processes, and keep clients happy. Whether it's closing deals, optimizing workflows, or leading game-changing projects, Chris makes it happen. Armed with data-driven insights and a passion for innovation, he’s all about creating smooth onboarding, increasing retention, and driving revenue. Need a strategy that works?
